Ten To Follow Update (06.12.2017)

The jumps season is now in full swing and there was an excellent weekends racing from Newbury for the Ladbrokes Winter Carnival and Newcastle for the Fighting Fifth Hurdle.

Willoughby Court got many players off to a great start to the weekend jumping well throughout and always pulling out enough up the home straight to hold off Yanworth. Just under an hour later, members would have had their head in their hands as both Unowhatimeanharry and Thistlecrack failed to deliver. Beer Goggles was sent out from the front by the Champion Jockey Richard Johnson and no one could get near.

The upsets continued into Saturday as Cap Soleil got turned over at very short odds as Dame Rose reversed the form from last time out. The feature race of the meeting, the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase, saw a ding dong battle between Willie Mullins' Total Recall and Henderson's Whisper. Whisper looked liked the winner until the dying strides as he got beaten on the line from a great ride from Paul Townend.

Over at Newcastle, Barry Geraghty was on a steering job as Buveur D'air hacked up in the Grade 1 feature race. Beware the Bear also won under a great ride from Sean Bowen, when he looked an unlikely winner down the back straight.

This week has some great racing from Aintree and Sandown for the Tingle Creek.

Be sure to check back next Wednesday for the scores.
