Great weekend for the Racegoers Club Owners

Posted 5 years ago

It was an Easter weekend to remember for the Racegoers Club Owner Groups as they enjoyed a superb exclusive stable visit to Clive Cox's before tasting success on the track at with Theatre Rouge at Newton Abbot and plenty to look forward to with an encouraging run from Glacier Point at Bath.

Theatre Rouge finally rewarded her loyal owners and followers by winning the 2m5f Novice Handicap Hurdle at Newton Abbot on her handicap debut. Heading to Newton Abbot instead of Ludlow proved a masterstroke from Philip Hobbs and although she gave us a few heart-in-the-mouth moments she got the job done well by five lengths in the end.

Just 24 hours earlier Glacier Point had finished third in the 5f Maiden at Bath. At first sight it could be viewed as a disappointing run as she looked a picture before the race and seemed very well in herself which meant she was backed into 13/8 favourite. She broke well and came through a gap up the inside as they headed into the final two furlongs and at that point she looked the likely winner but the ground just proved too firm for her and she wasn't able to do herself justice.

There will be another day with her and she remains with plenty of potential. Clive Cox said she was absolutely fine after her run and hopefully some rain will arrive in the next few weeks.

Don't forget you can get involved in our exciting ownership opportunities throughout the summer with Clive Cox and Richard Fahey. Find out more here.
