Glacier Point just finds one too good at Nottingham

What a month July has proved to be for Glacier Point who ran another cracker this evening at Nottingham to finish second. She now has form figures of 212 in July with promise of plenty more to come throughout the summer.

All seemed to be going to plan as Adam Kirby looked to be setting a nice pace before trying to kick on just before the 2 furlong pole. Unfortunately the presence of course-specialist Sitar loomed large and under bottom weight she just had too much for our girl who was carrying 6lbs more.

Adam jumped off and was very positive despite the defeat by just over a length.

He said: "She's very gutsy and run another cracking race. We just ran into one on the day sadly I think but she's run really well.

"I thought she was going to stick on and win but she got a bit intimidated as the winner came alongside her and just backed off a bit. She loved the ground though as we thought so no worries there and there will be another day for her I'm sure."

Adam also suggested that putting blinkers on her next time might help to bring out even more improvement, something that Clive Cox agreed with.

Clive said, "I'm really happy again as she's run well once more. As Adam said I think we just ran into one and with the 5lbs rise it was difficult. Adam's a sound judge and I'd say we'll probably take his advice on the blinkers.

"We'll also likely give her a bit more time between her races after this run and we'll have to look for the ground again. But I'm very pleased again so well done everybody!"

Clive's horses are certainly in good form as after Glacier Point's second he followed up with two winners later on the card with Dark Power and Mordoree. Long may it continue!
